_**The Foster Family Coalition of the NWT is looking for a dynamic professional to support a 1:1 intensive support relationship with an 18 yr old neurodivergent female client.**_

**JOB OVERVIEW**

Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director and the designated Social Worker, the Intensive Support Workers will be responsible for offering support to the youth on a daily 1:1 basis. Position aims to provide additional support to the youth who has been identified as high risk or in need of more one to one support than is normally provided by the program in which they are attending. The ISW will be responsible to engage with the youth, through activities that are fun, educational, and experience based including seasonal activities, hobbies, physical fitness, social outings such as movies, eating out, grocery shopping or community events.

**Duties**:

- Engage with youth at all times: be open, communicative and supportive
- Ensure youth are supervised at all times
- Plan and implement learning, activities and events that are motivating and fun
- Role model with enthusiasm and positive energy
- Assist and role model for the youth the proper care, use and maintenance of the space they are occupying at any given time
- Communicate with the Executive Director, Social Worker and Home Base or Foster Family Coalition Program Managers as needed
- Attend or complete training as provided and related to the youth
- Attend occasional case conferences as requested

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Firm professional boundaries**:

- Extremely punctual & reliable
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience working with youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, trauma background and response, and various behavioral needs
- Enthusiasm and desire to work with youth and make a positive impact on their life
- Knowledge and understanding of northern First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultures.
- Strong time management skills.

OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Resident of Yellowknife or immediately outlying communities of Ndilo or Dettah (_**required**_)
- Onsite employment, cannot be performed remotely (_**required**_)
- First Aid/ CPR _(_**preferred**_)_
- Class 5 license (_**preferred**_)
- Minimum _one_ (1) year driving experience as a fully qualified driver (_**required**_)
- Oath of Confidentiality (**required**)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (_**required**_) (_within last 6 months_)
- Child Protection Record Check (_**as needed**_)
- Minimum of _two _(2) positive employer references (_**required**_)
- Within past _two _(2) years (_**required**_)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $35.00 per hour
