**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Financial Analyst,Accounts Payable will be responsible for reviewing and approving invoices, employee travel and expenses, general ledger accounts analysis, cash flow, compliance review, variance analysis, college issue purchase cards reconciliation and payments (students, vendors, and employees).

**Responsibilities**:
**Accounts Payable**
- Oversee student refunds, bursaries, and scholarship payments process
- Review invoices submitted by vendors, as outlined within Seneca’s Procurement and Signing Authority policies
- Review and approve agent commission vouchers by validating the amount, agent’s address, banking details and taxes based on the agreement
- Review employee travel expenses and oversees purchasing card reconciliation process
- Escalate non-compliance transactions to Supervisor/ Compliance Team
- Process statutory payments by mandatory due dates
- Prepare monthly internal reports related to Accounts Payable transactions
- Manage weekly vendor and employee cheque/EFT payments

**Financial Analysis & Treasury**
- Perform general ledger accounts analysis, and identify and process journal entries for any transactions that are incorrectly recorded
- Support Manager, Accounts Payable and Director, Finance Operations in reviewing and analyzing operating and capital cash requirements; ensure operating, and capital cash needs are met by managing the cash and investment positions
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecast reports for management review

**General Accounting**
- Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries
- Support Manager, Accounts Payable and Director, Finance Operations in month-end / year-end reporting, audit schedules and variance analysis reports.

**Other duties as assigned.**

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- A minimum four (4) year degree in a related field.
- Professional designation in any of the following CPA CMA, CGA, CA is required; either completed or enrolled and working towards completion.

**Experience**
- A minimum of three (3) years work experience.

**Skills**
- Advanced working knowledge/competence in the use of PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and Travel and Expense module and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to perform comprehensive analytical review procedures
- Proven analytical skills combined with intuition and creativity
- Ability to resolve issues independently, without intervention by senior management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain accounting procedures with non-financial personnel across the diverse College community
