**Job Title/Position**:Coordinator for the Abbotsford Community Action Team (ROAR)
**Timeline**:Contracted July 2023 - December 2023 with extension dependent upon funding.
**Location**: Abbotsford (flexible working location within the area, including some remote)
**Reports to**:Matsqui-Abbotsford Impact Society
**Salary**:$27 - $35/hour depending on qualifications and experience
**Hours**: Approximately 15 -20 hours/week (hours variable; some evenings and weekends
required)

**Requirements**:Criminal Record Check (a criminal record will not disqualify applicants automatically), valid driver’s license and use of reliable vehicle.

**About ROAR (Reducing Overdose, Abbotsford Response)**:
On December 1, 2017, the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions launched an Overdose Emergency
Response Centre (OERC). The goal of the OERC is to spearhead action at the community level to prevent further deaths and to support people using substances to access evidence-based harm reduction and substance use treatment services where appropriate.

**Job Summary**

The CAT Coordinator will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan committee meetings, working groups, and program initiatives. The coordinator will develop and implement community engagement strategies, report on project progress, support the evaluation processes, and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including PWLLE.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the development, coordination, and implementation of CAT initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and PWLLE.
- Identify and welcome new stakeholders as needed to strengthen initiatives of the CAT.
- Provide support and/or create supportive structures for PWLLE, First Nations, Métis, and urban Indigenous members at or who may join our table to ensure inclusion and meaningful engagement in the decision-making process of the CAT.
- Provide leadership and support for Peer Coordinator.
- Prepare and distribute public relations and marketing materials as needed.
- Schedule and facilitate monthly CAT meetings and working group meetings, including creating an Agenda and providing Minutes for the meetings.
- Prepare monthly status/progress reports on the CAT’s identified and developing work plan, individual projects as needed, and present at the monthly CAT meetings.
- Ensure the Abbotsford CAT is meeting OERC objectives by preparing progress and evaluation reports for submission at the mid-point and final report, and as requested by OERC.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**:

- Project coordination/management and program evaluation
- Connections within the Abbotsford community and resources
- Experience in the following areas is an asset:

- Community development
- PWLLE engagement
- Substance use-related services or community initiatives
- Facilitation/conflict resolution
- Public speaking
- Any combination of education and work/lived experience related to the position will be considered

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Familiar with overdose prevention, harm reduction, stigma reduction, and trauma-informed care.
- Overdose response, including naloxone administration.
- Familiar with the concepts and practices of cultural safety and humility, inclusion, and respectful engagement.
- Proficient with communications technology, including social media strategies and platforms.
- Ability to manage a budget, including tracking and distributing funds.
