**Job Summary**:
The Abbotsford Local Immigration Partnership (ALIP) Community Coordinator leads the planning and implementation of the ALIP action plan and facilitates workshops on diversity and inclusion for community partners. Responsibilities for this position include meeting with internal and external collaborators, networking, strategizing with other organizations, coordinating large scale events, as well as the execution of projects that further support and drive the ongoing work of the programs. This position enables partner organizations and contributors in the city to create welcoming conditions for integrating refugees, newcomers, and immigrant in Abbotsford. Further, the ALIP Community Coordinator will help to strengthen relationships through mediating conflict and facilitating discussions between cross-cultural and interfaith groups, researching and enriching diversity education training content, teaching educational workshops, responding to crises and helping people uncover the value of diversity and inclusivity.

**Your Role**:
Archway’s ALIP Community Coordinator with the Diversity Education and Resources Program contributes by:

- Collaborating with Archway colleagues and partners by planning, organizing, and promoting Council and community-based events that support the mandate of ALIP.
- Recruiting and registering participants to participate in ALIP events.
- Conducting outreach activities and meeting with diverse people on a regular basis, including at-risk youth, young parents, prisoner inmates, seniors, people from lesbian, gay, and transgender communities, people from various religious groups, survivors of violence, refugees, new immigrants, businesspeople, educators, and government workers.
- Mediating conflict and facilitating discussions between cross-cultural and interfaith groups, responding to crises and helping people talk about racism, violence, hate crime, heterosexism, religion, etc.
- Supporting victims of discrimination through hearing their story, recording the incident they have experienced and making appropriate referrals (this may be over the phone or in person)**. **Bringing these incidents to the attention of the appropriate tables such as the Fraser Valley Human Dignity Coalition.
- Organizing workshops, trainings, resources and education to businesses, community organizations, school classes, youth/adult programs and individuals who have experienced discrimination.
- Participating in the Fraser Valley Human Dignity Coalition and serving as the liaison with contributors and community partners and concerned citizens.

**Our Offer**:

- Wage: $27.00 per hour
- A permanent, full-time position at 35 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

**Getting an Interview-you will be considered if you have**:

- Post-secondary education in Human Services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience building partnerships with community groups and government agencies.
- Experience giving presentations and facilitating meetings and conversations.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations an asset.

- Strong understanding, sensitivity and knowledge of human rights, diversity and discrimination.
- Strong verbal, written, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
- Strong competency with computers; able to use Microsoft Office365 particularly Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use virtual meeting platforms like Microsoft Teams and Cisco WebEx.
- Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills; able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
