Who you are
You are an energy professional with in depth knowledge and experience in the areas of energy efficiency, decarbonization and Net Zero, as well as broader sustainability initiatives. You are capable of planning and implementing energy conservation projects and sustainability programs within the commercial real estate industry. You are well-versed in business practices, including business case development, project management, developing budgets and liaising with key stakeholders.
Essential Functions and Job Duties- Energy tracking and monitoring - Encourage adoption of Colliers utility data management system for all properties and utilize for energy tracking and support reporting to property managers and clients.-
- Coordination with Local Distribution Companies (LDC) - Responsible for all LDC program deliverables as required, including coordinating and assisting with site visits and inspections, attending required educational seminars, and generating reports as required.- Performance monitoring & capacity building - Monitor and report on key performance metrics as identified or required across managed properties that support continuous improvement and best practices. Coordinate internal capacity building and awareness initiatives to build up knowledge amongst Colliers personnel and building occupants.- Building Certifications - Using available building data and client goals for their assets and portfolios, help identify building performance and occupant experience certifications for properties to strive towards. Support gap analyses and the coordination of materials required to support the submission process- ESG disclosures and industry reports - On an ongoing basis collect and maintain information to support the development of case studies, contribute to Colliers annual reporting, thought leadership and other publications that demonstrate our progress to achieve our national, global environmental and social impact goals. In addition, ensure the collection of property level performance data needed to support client ESG reporting needs.- Property onboarding & general administration - Support the onboarding of new properties and general administration duties as required.
What you bring- University degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Sustainability Management, or related field.- Possess at least one of the following designations: Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED Green Associate / LEED AP specialty, BCIT Sustainable Energy Management Associate Certificate, UBC Masters in Clean Energy, or Registered Professional Engineer.- 3 - 5 years of related knowledge and experience, with an emphasis on building science, electrical, HVAC and facility control systems and experience in facility energy efficiency and GHG emissions management- Experience supporting or leading business case development, financial management, project planning, and contract negotiations.- Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels of an organization, meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality and attention to detail.- Demonstrated experience in project management, presenting business case and/or project plans that include both financial and operational requirements; Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI and/or other data management and visualization tools.
Bonus skills, experience and designation- Commercial Real Estate Experience.- WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador
What success looks like- You will be an advocate within Colliers, engaging both internal and external stakeholders in promoting energy and sustainability best practices.- Contribute to the implementation of Colliers’ ESG program and support clients in tracking ESG KPIs to achieve targets.- Successfully meet LDC Energy Manager requirements including providing quarterly reports, coordinate and assist with implementing projects and attend all required training and education seminars.
- Approximate Salary Range for Role: $54,563 to $101,250_
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training._
