Internship: Field Service Representative

Eaton’s ESSG CA Canada division is currently seeking a Field Service Representative Intern.

**What you’ll do**:
Primary Function:
This position is responsible for servicing uninterruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer’s site.

Essential Functions:

- Performs emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility.
- Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products.
- Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related problems.

- Proficiency in the following:

- Test Equipment Operation.
- Troubleshooting Techniques.
- Basic understanding of UPS’ 100 KVA and below.
- Basic understanding of UPS’ between 100-500 KVA.
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes.
- Perform other duties, as required

**Qualifications**:
Basic Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in a Co-Op Program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
- This position does not offer relocation
- Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications:

- 0 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing electrical controls and/or power distribution products
- Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming.
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytic skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to read and utilize drawings, handbook formulas and a variety of precision diagnostic instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good attitude and work ethic
