**ROLE PURPOSE**

The PetYellow Compliance Officer contributes to the achievement of our vision by providing advice and support to PetYellow and its key stakeholders. A key driver of success in this role will be the ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and provide sound advice on compliance matters in a fast - paced environment and to use your initiative to support the business and ensure best practice regulatory standards are met.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Technical / Compliance**:

- Work with businesses and customers to ensure commercially viable and compliant outcomes.
- Provide practical compliance advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to the relative provincial and/or territorial Insurance Acts.
- Advise on operational compliance issues concerning customers, suppliers, competitors or regulators.
- Ensure there is effective governance, oversight and management of risks.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and approving all front end business documentation including User Guides, Policy Terms and Conditions, quote tools, websites, advertising and promotional material and other collateral, ensuring compliance to relative Insurance Act and regulations.
- Monitor and report on changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment.
- Management of incidents, including remediation and recording of identified breaches and incidents.
- Act in accordance with PetYellow’s Compliance framework, including reporting, development and maintenance of policies and procedures and monitoring/conducting audits as required.
- Contribute to business projects by acting as the compliance representative.
- Support the creation and management of PetYellow’s Compliance framework, including development and maintenance of policies and procedures.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:
**KNOWLEDGE**

**Prior to joining PetYellow**:

- Relevant qualification - e.g. Bachelor’s Degree in Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal or Risk
- Knowledge of national/local compliance laws and regulations|
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in P&C Insurance category.

**In first 3 months**:

- Understanding of PetYellow’s legal and compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of PetYellow’s strategic direction.
- Clarity of PetYellow’s business structure.

**Desirable**:

- Experience liaising with regulatory bodies
- Legal qualifications and ability to assist with legal related work where required.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, including policy and claims administration
- Understanding of roles and responsibilities of pet insurance operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal or Risk

- Ability to work with international teams in a matrixed environment

**EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**:

- 5+ years operation experience in P&C Insurance
- Experience with market conduct examination process and procedures
- Knowledge of national/local compliance laws and regulations

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

**Salary**: $28.00-$31.00 per hour
