**Job purpose**:
Medical office assistants (MOAs) are core to the clinic and its physicians’ ability to deliver healthcare services to patients.

MOAs will perform everyday functions essential to the smooth operation of the clinic. MOAs will be the first point of contact for patients and other providers, and will serve as an interface between physicians and patients.

**What we need**:
Full time employee that can provide consistent coverage for 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.

**Shift hours are**:
8:00am - 4pm or 8:30am-4:30pm, with 1/2 hour paid lunch break

**Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to**:
Scheduling appointments with MedAccess (will train but experience would be an asset).
Clean high-traffic surfaces and exam rooms.
Direct patient flow inside the clinic with safety protocols in mind.
Replenish office and medical supplies in exam rooms as needed throughout the day.
Collect, record, and invoice payments.
Handle, print labels for, and ship specimens to the appropriate laboratories.
Administrative tasks include, but are not limited to: triage incoming faxes and mail, contact patients for appointments and reminders, communicate with other clinics and facilities, etc.

**Work conditions**:
You will have your own assigned space at the front-desk, which is a shared workspace between 2-3 staff. There is a dedicated kitchen and washroom reserved for staff only.

You can expect to work with 2-3 full-time physicians and 1-2 other MOAs per shift.

Some flexibility in work hours and days are expected as unforeseen emergencies are part of the healthcare industry.

**Qualifications**:
Education
High school and above

Languages
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Additional languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, would be an asset but are not necessary.

Experience
Experience working for physicians in clinics or hospitals.
Experience with Medical Services Plan (MSP), PharmaCare, ICBC, WorkSafe BC, insurance companies, etc.

**Skills**:Computer and typing skills are necessary
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) system
Able to use Microsoft Office e.g. Word and Excel

Physical requirements
Must be able to wear a mask through the work day (disposable or reusable mask).
Light-weight lifting, such as handling of office and medical supplies, will be involved.
The anticipated high traffic in the clinic will entail a high step count every day.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
