**About Us**:
At the Adult & Youth Enrichment Center (AYEC), we believe in fostering growth, inclusion, and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re looking for an Event Planner who shares our passion for community and can help us create meaningful experiences that bring people together.
**About the Role**:
We’re looking for someone who loves bringing ideas to life and has a knack for creating events that are engaging, fun, and impactful. From workshops and celebrations to community outreach and fundraising, you’ll be at the heart of planning events that reflect the spirit of AYEC. Working closely with our team, clients, and volunteers, you’ll make sure every event is a memorable experience that aligns with our mission of support and inclusion.
**What You’ll Do**:
- Collaborate with our staff to create events that bring joy, learning, and connection to our community
- Take care of all the details—scheduling, venues, décor, catering, and entertainment—ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Dream up fun and meaningful event ideas, from fundraisers to client celebrations
- Build relationships with vendors, volunteers, and sponsors to bring your event visions to life
- Promote events through social media, flyers, and other channels to get the community excited
- Keep track of event budgets and find creative ways to make the most of them
- Gather feedback after each event to continuously improve and make the next one even better
- Ensure that every event is welcoming and accessible to everyone, reflecting our inclusive values
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Experience in planning events (especially community-focused or nonprofit events is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Great communication and relationship-building abilities
- Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for making events special
- Experience with budgeting and resource management
- Understanding of, or openness to learning about, the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in event planning tools and software is helpful
