- Managing the production, operational and sanitation aspects of all culinary and stewarding operations for Milestones.
- Oversees kitchen labour and cost to achieve budgetary requirements.
- Managing food costs through waste management, portion control and ordering.
- Ensuring high level of food quality and consistency through training and direction to kitchen associates.
- Regular quality assurance and quality control inspections in order to maintain cleanliness of all back of the house areas; keeps equipment in proper working order.
- Communicating and work closely with front of the house management to ensure a quality employee/guest experience.
- Health and Safety - must ensure that all associates are working in a safe and responsible manner and following safety standards.
- Food Safety - ensure that all associates are following safe food handling procedures and workplace cleanliness by coaching and training the associates on Milestones standards and approved methods of service and cleanliness.
- Monitoring the customer online responses and customer comment cards; identifies problem areas and formulates solutions.
- Overseeing inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for supplies.

**Our Ideal Restaurant Kitchen Manager will have**:

- Diploma in Culinary Management. Food safety certified - Red Seal Certification.
- Passion for teaching and skill at identifying and cultivating talent within the department.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of operational experience in a high volume kitchen.
- Must have a current CIFS Food Handler Certificate.
- Must be have knowledge with all computer desktop systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
- Good comprehension of the English language, both written and oral.
- Ability to work in an environment that encourages and fosters teamwork, participation, creativity, openness, honest and mutual respect.
