Communications Manager

Home Hardware has an exciting opportunity available for a **Communications Manager** to join our Communications team. Reporting to the Director, Communications, you will be responsible for providing advice, direction and management to the development and execution of the corporate communications program.

**What you’ll do**:
- Develop and manage the execution of the overall operational, and strategic communications plans for Home Homeware Stores Limited across a variety of media platforms, including but not limited to video content, event briefings, speeches, presentations, written collateral, daily, weekly, and monthly communications and other assets to support the corporate communication strategy.
- Lead, motivate and support the Communications team with creating captivating communication material.
- Delegate and assign responsibilities to the team for the implementation of the communications plans and provide advice to ensure best-in-class results.
- Develop effective processes and guidelines to support content delivery and ensure consistency in messaging across all key audiences (Dealer, Staff, Business Partners/Suppliers, Media).
- Build relationships and engage key stakeholders including but not limited to: (Project Management Office, Leadership Team, Human Resources, Corporate Records and President & CEOs office) to identify initiatives and story ideas to leverage in communications.
- Protect and enhance Home’s reputation through effective communications and integrated storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Public Relations Team to ensure key message alignment and consistency.
- Manage the production of live and virtual events such as Regional Dealer Meetings and Market from script/speech development to video product.
- Contribute and provide support as required for campaigns and special projects (i.e.: public relations campaigns, Annual Report, special events and activities, HR requests etc.).
- Monitor, measure, and report on success of current communication efforts.
- Create and monitor budget for the Department, exercising sound fiscal management to control expenses and generate revenue, including approval of all Departmental expenses.
**What we’re looking for**:
- College Diploma in Communications, Marketing or Business, with ten years’ experience in a Communications focused role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in a variety of formats, styles, and media.
- Ability to produce high quality first drafts and proofread and edit the work of others.
- Ability to produce quality work in an incredibly fast paced, high volume and high impact environment, balancing many projects at once with tight deadlines and production schedules; meet tight deadlines and effectively handle changing priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with an eye for grammar and consistency.
- Excellent organization and project management skills; results oriented.
- Strategic communications experience with strong knowledge of communications principles and practices; excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Strong listening skills (working with Team Members and understanding true nature of problems and challenges the department is asked to help with).
- Strong understanding of approval processes and demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; multi-tasking capabilities and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strategic thinker; results oriented.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading direct reports.
- Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
- Experience with design projects and video communications is an asset.
- Change Management certification is an asset.
