- Our People and Culture department is growing and evolving to develop a range of people and culture programs to support organizational needs and growth within the City of North Vancouver. In support of these changes, we are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and seasoned HR generalist with a demonstrated background in labour relations to complement our enthusiastic and talented team of HR professionals. You will work in collaboration with department managers, staff and union representatives to continue to foster a positive working environment, enhance the employee experience and promote a culture of high performance. Together you will shape and implement the People and Culture vision to meet the challenges of this evolving City.- Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you will work in partnership with other team members to develop and deliver a progressive employee experience within a high performance culture. You will provide strategic, tactical and operational HR support to the various departments within the City on a variety of people, organizational and change management issues including organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and recruitment, learning and development, workplace health and safety, wellness, equity, diversity and inclusion, performance management, succession planning, coaching and mentoring of staff, grievance/arbitration management, collective bargaining and conflict resolution.**Requirements**:

- This position requires an individual with a strong work ethic who has demonstrated leadership skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, superior communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple demands. In addition, you possess the diplomacy and tact required to deal effectively with unions, staff, the public and City Council.- You will have a degree in human resources, labour relations, business administration, law, or public administration complemented by a minimum of 7 years experience in progressively more senior HR generalist/leadership roles within a unionized environment, with a strong focus on labour relations and HR operations. A CPHR designation and municipal experience is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of HCM/HRIS Systems and on-line Applicant Tracking Systems is required.**Compensation**
