**Role Responsibilities**:
The role of the Crown Land Enforcement Section Team Lead is critical in ensuring the fair and just enforcement of environmental regulations within the Department. The incumbent will determine appropriate enforcement tools, ensuring compliance and addressing violations effectively as it relates to the Public Lands Act, Forest Reserves Act and Parks Act dispositions. This includes navigating complex investigations, collaborating closely with the Environmental Law Section of Alberta Justice, other enforcement agencies and defending appeals to statutory decisions in front of the Public Lands Appeal Board. The position also involves identifying policy conflicts, gaps, and setting precedents, thereby shaping regional and provincial regulatory practices.

As a leader within the Crown Land Enforcement Section, the Team Lead will provide operational direction to investigators and ensure that investigative services meet departmental goals and regulatory assurance outcomes. This entails developing plans, prioritizing emerging issues, and setting expectations for investigative services. Additionally, the Team Lead will oversee case management, quality assurance, staff training, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold standards and foster excellence within the department.

Given the multifaceted nature of the role, the Team Lead will liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including ministry executives, law enforcement agencies, industry representatives, and the public. Building partnerships, facilitating problem-solving, and championing compliance education and stewardship programs will be integral to the position. Ultimately, the Crown Land Enforcement Section Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting the environment, and upholding the reputation of the Government of Alberta.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- A University degree in natural sciences, Conservation Law Enforcement, or a related field. Plus Six (6) years of directly related experience.Equivalencies will be considered: Directly related education or experience considered based on:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
