**Job Purpose**

Under the direction of the Settlement and Family Support Director, the Translation Coordinator Assistant helps with the delivery of client services by performing clerical and administrative duties in the area of Translation/Interpretation services for management, service delivery staff and clients.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Administration_
- Provides clerical support to Translation Coordinator by preparing, scanning, typing, copying, distributing and filing documents, correspondence, and other materials.
- Assists with coordinating and scheduling service delivery for direct clients and service providers; and evaluates service effectiveness and outcomes.
- Maintains databases and spreadsheets, and prepares reports/documents on translation/interpretation services when required.
- Ensures accurate translation/interpretation records by organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files; and keeping information secure and confidential.
- Identifies and gathers resources to recruit qualified Translators/Interpreters to meet SFS Unit needs.
- Monitors and evaluates Translator’s/Interpreter’s performance and quality; and provides them with feedback.
- Keeps Translation Coordinator informed by regular reporting as required and advising them on emergent issues.
- Relationship Management_
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with collateral agencies and community partners.
- Responds to general inquiries from clients and assists other staff in the organization with their inquiries.
- Communicates with Translators/Interpreters and clients for quotes, verification, price negotiation, notarization, and correction.
- Issues payment requisitions and submits all necessary paperwork to Finance Dept. Tracks payment for translators.
- Other duties as assigned._

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and one year of work experience in an administrative support capacity, OR
- Post-secondary training in Business Administration and three years of work experience in an administrative support capacity.
- One year experience in coordinating programs.

**Required Licenses and/or Certifications**
- Criminal Occurrence Security Check - Must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing and within three months prior to first day of employment.
