The Alice Saddy Association is a dynamic, community-based organization that provides a range of individualized, one on one supports to people with developmental disabilities. We envision a community that welcomes every person equally with respect and acceptance.

We are seeking a full-time Planning Facilitator to work predominantly in the city of London & surrounding area. The Planning Facilitator is a change agent, someone who is a confident self-starter and feels passionate about the contribution that people with disabilities can make to the community.

Facilitators are guided by values and principles that promote self-determination and expression, inclusion, social justice, citizenship, community participation and contribution. They are committed to the individual’s goals, creating a “good life” as defined by the person, building trusted relationships and social networks, active community inclusion, and assisting them in claiming greater control over their life.

**The Planning Facilitator will**:

- Engage with people with disabilities, their families and their support staff to facilitate a person-directed planning _process _which will identify individualized goals in alignment with each person’s unique gifts, strengths and personal interests
- Use various facilitation tools, practices, and resources that empower the person to envision and create the life they want.
- Assist with articulating and implementing action items that ensure goals become reality
- Create accountability within the planning process
- Facilitate relationship-building and the development of a network of support
- Work as a community developer to create opportunities and partnerships
- Be a strong advocate for people’s rights for full citizenship
- Develop local and provincial contacts and work collaboratively with them
- Work closely with the person’s support team and act as a resource to them
- Organize formal and informal training, small group, and individual mentoring
- Have a leadership role within the organization in developing a planning strategy that is consistent with the principles and values of the Association.
- Understand and support the Alice Saddy Association’s vision/mission/values, direction and culture
- Work flexible hours that includes evenings and weekends and work that is often outside of the office.

**Hours of Work**:

- 35 hours/weekly
- Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends as needed

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma
- Interest in continuous learning, including values-based training that is concerned with improving the quality of life of marginalized people
- Demonstrated experience in person-directed planning or facilitation
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership position of at least 3 years
- Interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including collaboration and networking
- Empowering independence and interdependence in others
- Skills in public speaking, negotiation and community development
- Passionate belief in human rights
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Open to a flexible work schedule
- Experience with a variety of computer software and social media
- Valid G driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
