Located in London, Ontario, the Cross Cultural Learner Centre (CCLC) provides settlement services and support to newcomers while promoting intercultural awareness and understanding. We are currently looking for a Canada Connects Facilitator.

This is a permanent, full-time contract opportunity.

The Community Connections Program is looking for a full time, highly motivated, community-minded individual to provide specific program delivery in the Canada Connects Program.
The Canada Connects Facilitator promotes social and professional networking that addresses language and cultural barriers faced by newcomers to Canada by acting as a liaison between newcomers and other community members or partners. The position works with community members and organizations to educate local stakeholders about refugee needs. The Canada Connects Facilitator also builds community capacity by organizing networking group sessions opportunities to support the newcomer’s integration process.

**Roles Responsibilities**

Planning and Implementation of Networking and Small Groups (80%):

- Coordinate monthly and annual Canada Connects social and professional integration events and activities for clients and volunteers
- Maintain up-to-date and relevant community resources/support systems for volunteers within the Targeted Match Program
- Market the Canada Connects program to the community
- Developing and delivering small and large group meet and greet sessions for matched newcomer Clients and volunteers to provide opportunities for cross-cultural integration activities between newcomers and volunteers
- Work effectively with the Community Connections and CCLC team and deliver programming both in-person and virtually via various platforms
- Keeping accurate daily records of participants, including registration and attendance **Regularly communicating and collaborating with the Match Facilitator, Community Connections Team, and the Community Connections Manager to ensure appropriate service delivery**:

- Develop training for Canada Connects volunteers to enhance their knowledge and skills working with high need clients
- Plans and co-ordinates, with the support of match facilitation, networking sessions for newcomers looking to pursue employment
- Plans and co-ordinates group activities and Conversation Circles, with the support of volunteer facilitation, focused on informal language development, community engagement and social networking
- Develops and maintains partnerships with external organizations to increase newcomer engagement in networking opportunities

Other Duties (20%):

- Maintains and submits accurate tracking documents, monthly reports and regular updates to the Manager
- Maintains appropriate records and files pertaining to networking groups and events and Conversation Circles
- Ensures appropriate and confidential handling of all client information and files
- Actively participates in all mandated training, staff meetings and workshops
- Operates in accordance with the policies, guidelines, and protocols of the agency and program
- Accepts other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- College diploma in Social Services, Arts and or Humanities, or related fields
- A minimum of one year of experience in working with newcomer families from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, and working in partnerships with other community agencies, and programs
- A minimum of one year of experience in coordination, outreach, event planning, partnership, group facilitation, and service bridging
- Demonstrated creativity and initiative in planning various networking activities
- Knowledge of the London area and various community resources
- Able to assess needs for complex, multi-barrier clients, and to plan and implement appropriate activities
- Ability to work from a Trauma Informed Perspective
- Ability to commit to inclusion
- Appropriate level of proficiency in the principles and practices of newcomer services, mentorship
- Experience working independently under mínimal supervision as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment and manage crisis and conflict effectively
- High level of proficiency in MS Office
- Must be able to work evenings until 8 p.m. and some weekends
- Possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving abstract, and a vehicle
- Ability a second language is an asset

CCLC acknowledges the history of the Indigenous territory and lands of the Attawandaran (Neutral) where our Centre stands. The Attawandaran peoples once settled in this region alongside the Algonquin and Haudenosaunee peoples, and used the land as traditional beaver hunting grounds.
