**Team & Job Overview**

In the Risk Analyst role, you will perform independent credit and financial risk assessment to assess the commercial risk acceptance and repayment capabilities of these companies. to achieve the optimal balance between customer-centricity and EDC’s business requirements. In addition, you will, actively participate in the attainment of the group’s performance and growth objectives and be engaged in continuous improvement in order to remove obstacles, enhance the work environment and improve the customer experience.

**Discipline Summary**
- Minimizes financial risk to the organization by assessing and advising on creditworthiness of prospective and existing buyers of Canadian exporters
- Performs reviews to ensure transparency regarding the company risk profile
- Analyses and comments on market and portfolio developments
- Works in collaboration with Business Teams and other internal partners to manage the credit insurance portfolio
- Liaises with buyers, banks, information providers and other entities to assess credit issues

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conducts due diligence and necessary analysis to establish the creditworthiness and risk level of the buyer and/or transactions based on the financial review of the buyer as well as the assessment of other factors such as country economic conditions, payment terms etc.
- Assesses and evaluates requests for new credit
- Implements timely reviews of buyer portfolio to ensure files are up-to-date and minimizes credit granting turnaround times
- Consistently adheres to acceptable credit standards to ensure appropriate documentation, credit analysis and recommended decisions
- Prepares credit material and presents recommendations to appropriate DOA
- Proactively shares knowledge to provide superior service to the Business Teams, internal partners, and customers
- Learns about general credit insurance underwriting practices
- Ensures discipline around data integrity
- Able to generate new continuous improvement ideas for EDC by working closely with colleagues, customers, and key intermediaries. Contributes to ad hoc projects related to process and other improvements

**Screening Criteria**
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other related disciplines
- Minimum 2 years of experience (level 2) 5 years (level 3) in credit risk management and international trade or related fields
- Knowledge of credit risk management principles and practices

**Assets**
- Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
- Knowledge of bank credit and lending practices
- Knowledge of international business practices and international trade

**Salary Range**
- Risk Analyst, level 2: $66,000 - $99,000 + performance-based incentive
- Risk Analyst, level 3: $78,000 - $117,000 + performance-based incentive
