**How will you contribute?**:
- You will also:
- Prepare multiyear priorities and business plans for the Risk Management and Investigations Division;
- Conduct Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) for senators and parliamentary delegation travel, both domestically and internationally;
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to the Director, senators, senior management and committees;
- Propose appropriate safeguards and security measures;
- Serve as the Senate representative within the INTERSECT community (Police/Intel Community in the National Capital Region).
- Serve as co-chair on the Speakers’ Committee on the Use of Parliament Hill (CUPH) with the responsibility to review, assess, deny or grant permission for CUPH events.
- Conduct risk assessments on various security components of the Long-Term Vision and Planning (LTVP) project (e.g., camera placements, secure mail scanning processes, review media content, etc.) and provide recommendations on effective mitigation measures for implementation.

**Prerequisites**:
- Successful completion of a postsecondary education in a relevant security-related field such as risk and security studies, public safety, policing or protective services and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in leading a team of security professionals where the last 3 have been directly involved in leading a team of investigators and intelligence analysts;
- Extensive experience in leading complex and sensitive investigations including conducting interviews and obtaining statements surrounding security incidents and/or breaches of institutional policies;
- Experience in utilizing the principles and practices of risk management to assess the possible threat to a person, location or an organization;
- Experience in analyzing complex security issues and providing high-level briefings and recommendations to internal clients, senior executives and management;
- Knowledge of the provisions of security-related acts and regulations, federal and provincial statutes, and criminal and civil law;
- Possess an in-depth understanding of domestic and international travel risks with experience developing strategies and threat and risk assessments to support the safe realization of travel;
- Have excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience in developing strong, mutually benefiting relationships with people in the security community;
- Experience liaising with policing, intelligence and/or security agencies;
- Experience in managing financial resources;
- A professional certification such as Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certification or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) will be considered an asset;
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with parliamentary institutions would be a considered strong asset.
