**Position Title**: Technical Writer
**Reports To**: Manager, Client Communications
**Department**: Individual Product Development and Marketing
**Term**: Permanent Full-Time
**Work Arrangements**: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

As a Communications Writer, you will create thoughtful and impactful content that facilitates understanding and engagement within our products. You are a key member of the Client Communications team. You’re a storyteller who is at ease presenting and discussing your work with communications partners and stakeholders. You put the client at the center of everything you do. Critical thinking, strong communications practices and principles and a client-centric approach are second nature to you. Reporting to our Manager of Client Communications, you will be working to rewrite client facing communications and insurance contracts for the Individual Division to be clear, simple and engaging, and reimagine the delivery and presentation of those communications.
**What you will be doing**:
- Collaborate with the Client Communications team and project partners to understand the business objectives that drive content strategy
- Manage the writing projects that you are assigned
- Provide relevant and considerate content that is written with clarity and accuracy and is compelling
- Align to all content governance systems, workflows, and standards including brand style, tone and voice guidelines
- Coordinate copy translation, approval documentation and final delivery of content
- Collaborate at both strategic and operational levels with Product, Design, Operations, Client Impact, Brand and IT teams
- Assist in evolving our content guide, strategy, and process documentation and contribute to the brand communications style guide
- Develop the client communications practice, building innovative and effective guidelines, best practices, and tools
- Implement long-term strategies that allow content to scale
- Work with our IT partners on producing, mapping and maintaining variable, dynamic and static content on client letters
- Work collaboratively with field teams, operations teams, and CAX researchers to shape and validate your work
- Work with UX designers on UX writing and content design concepts
- Advocate for inclusivity and accessibility, crafting delightful content and experiences for various demographics, reimagining products so that they're effective for a range of audiences
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to bring a sense of delight and purpose to our in-product content
- Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure our communications are appropriately and responsibly launched
- Change context quickly and easily, working with various products and teams
**What you will bring**:
- 3-5+ years of experience in content creation
- Expert writing, editing and proofreading skills with a handle on taking complex concepts and rewriting content for clarity and brevity
- Adaptability to use different writing styles, voice and tone
- Understanding of various content strategies, including UX design, that contribute to client experience
