The Granite Club is hiring a full time Purchasing & Receiving Supervisor who will be responsible for effective management of all food and beverage procurement needs of the Club. Activities include identifying key suppliers, soliciting and evaluating quotes and bids, awarding orders, and resolving transaction issues, as well as identifying key areas for cost controls, continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process and assisting with budgeting processes, strategic sourcing and vendor contract negotiations.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assists Executive Chef in all aspects of purchasing (e.g., Food, Beverage, Supplies & equipment) to ensure quality and profitability.
- Sourcing supplies and negotiating commercial terms and maintains a list of accredited suppliers for ready reference.
- Maintains good professional relationships with suppliers, departments and division heads, and ensures the prices quoted are reasonable, optimal stocks are maintained, deliveries and outstanding orders checked, accepted quality, and can be delivered within schedule with limited liability for the Club.
- Liaising with suppliers and representatives to research new products.
- Regularly compare the prices charged by suppliers with those of other vendors in the markets to ensure that the Club can always buy at the best possible price without jeopardizing quality.
- Maintains file of pending purchase requisitions and close liaison between the requisitioner and the suppliers when quality is of paramount importance.
- Informs Finance at month end of items received but not invoiced to be accrued.
- Follows up on undelivered items, makes proper complaints to the supplier concerned when items delivered are unsatisfactory, and informs the department head.
- Generates and provides accurate and timely results/information in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
- Enforces first in, first out item use-up with storeroom personnel and kitchen management to keep inventory at lowest possible levels.
- Verifies invoice on goods received against shipment to ensure quantity, quality, price, weights and purchase specifications are as ordered.
- Completes period end inventory according to Food and Beverage and Accounting standard operating procedures.
- Ensures accurate administration of all invoices, and adherence to proper bookkeeping procedures.
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
- Participates in walk-throughs to ensure that all work areas are well maintained and ensures disciplinary situations are addressed and performance reviews are completed on a timely basis for purchasing and receiving employees.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma, degree, or certification in business, F&B Hospitality Operations,Purchasing and Inventory Management preferred
- Experience in a Food and Beverage operation or in a Supervisory role is a definite asset
- Experience with Purchasing and Inventory Management and POS software is a definite asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with various departments and levels within the organization.
- Be able to work weekends or evenings to assist with special events, month and year end inventory procedures and other weekly or seasonal activities
