**EVALUATION **SPECIALIST**

**CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA**

Physician Support and Wellness’ (PSW) departmental mission is to foster and champion physician wellbeing, while mitigating medico-legal risk, supporting the delivery of safe medical care, and promoting principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the department uses a multi-pronged approach to support members and promote physician wellbeing at the individual and systemic levels.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**POSITION ACTIVITIES**

**Develop **Evaluation Strategies **and **Conduct **Evaluation**s**
- Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive departmental evaluation strategy to demonstrate strategic performance and impact.
- Design and implement evaluation plans, models, instruments and tools, perform data collection and analysis, and communicate results.
- Ensure the corporate alignment of departmental evaluation activities.
- Compile, analyze, and synthesize information to inform strategic direction and initiatives.
- Identify and frequently review priorities for evaluation activities.

**Build Departmental** Evaluation Capacity**
- Conduct environmental scans and literature reviews to identify trends and developments in evaluation and performance measurement that can inform departmental decision-making.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the CMPA evaluation and performance measurement communities of practice.
- Contribute to building awareness and capacity for evaluation and performance measurement through sharing knowledge and expertise within the department.
- Develop and maintain consistent data collection, analysis and data management practices.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Four-year degree in a relevant area (e.g., social sciences, public administration, community studies, management, etc.) with an emphasis on research
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience (e.g., evaluation planning, and/or performance measurement/analysis)
- Canadian Evaluation Society Credentialed Evaluator (CE) or ability to work toward meeting CE qualification requirements
- Experience working with senior decision makers, staff and a variety of stakeholders is preferred
- Project management training would be an asset
- Experience working in a not-for-profit organization is an asset

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge and experience using mixed-methods (quantitative and qualitative) approaches to research and evaluation planning, design, implementation analysis and reporting
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proven ability to independently design and conduct evaluations
- Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative to resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of technical platforms and software programs to support research, evaluation and data analysis
- Proven ability to mobilize knowledge for diverse audiences, including presenting and disseminating results in clear, concise and compelling language
- Knowledge of Canada’s healthcare system
- Bilingual (French and English) an asset

**POSTING DETAILS**
- Job Type**:16-Month term**, full-time opportunity
- Salary Range: $97,900 to $131,000 - this role is classified as level 09
- Location: Hybrid - Primary Remote Job. You can work from a home-based office the majority of the time within the provinces of Ontario and Québec, with regular on-site presence at the CMPA office. If you prefer, you can choose to work out of the CMPA office in Ottawa, Ontario near the beautiful Dow’s Lake. This position cannot be performed fully remotely.
