Estimator/coordinator

**Overview**
The Estimator Coordinator plays a crucial role in the construction estimating process, ensuring that projects are accurately priced and effectively managed from inception to completion. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Estimator Coordinator will assist in preparing estimates, coordinating project timelines, and supporting the overall project management efforts.
**Duties**
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to gather necessary information for accurate project estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review plans and specifications to identify project requirements and potential challenges.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and contracts for easy access and reference.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Monitor project timelines and coordinate with team members to ensure adherence to schedules.
- Provide support in project management tasks as needed, including tracking progress and reporting on milestones.
**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Estimation**:
- Download, Scan, Print, Review drawings and specifications for scopes of work
- Set up jobs and update on the server and website for subtrades
- Load and update tender documents on website through our FTP site
- Update tenders with any upcoming agenda
- Select subtrades based on scope of work for each tendered job
- Create Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s) for each project
- Follow up with sub-trades and update subtrades on any changes during tender process
- Assist trades with any issues on the tender documents
- Provide Quantity take-offs
- Assist/Follow-up/Close tenders
- Manage/Upgrade subtrade information
**Project Management**:
- Awarding contracts
- Scheduling/Schedule Control
- Document control (shop drawings, RFIs, changes)
- Pricing changes to Owner, Owner Billings
- Approval of subcontractor invoices
- Managing of all subcontractors/suppliers
- Chairing/preparing minutes of Owner and Subcontractor meetings
- Review site progress, Cost Reports
**Qualifications**
- Bachelors in business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 1-5 years experience in Construction/Manufacturing industries
- Experience in various estimating software’s: Sage, ProEst, FreshBooks, Stack, Procore etc.
- Experience and ability in planning, scheduling, and managing complex projects.
- Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in estimating costs.
