Ar Claims Analyst

The Claims Analyst will be responsible for the oversight of ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential deduction activities for our Canada customer base, including the collection and resolution of invalid deductions. This will be accomplished by performing root cause analysis and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure the accuracy of billing information and to maximize the recovery of disputed claims. Collaborating with key stakeholders to provide recommendations and implement process improvements to improve financial results.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
**Analytical (60%)**
- Coordinate review with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Marketing departments to resolve deduction issues relating to promotional and backend programs.
- Reconcile and analyze customer claims within assigned portfolio.
- Root cause analysis: interpreting customer behavior to prevent future deductions and sharing findings with broader teams across our enterprise.
- Provide ad hoc reporting for the cross-functional team.
- Responsible for collaborating directly with customers in the collection of invalid claims.
- Prevent financial loss by becoming knowledge matter expert with customer portfolio to ensure customer requirements are known to the proper department.
- Harmonize with the Sales, Finance and Marketing teams to make strategic recommendations and solutions, in addition to analyze cost benefit opportunities to ensure working capital is maximized.
- Schedule, set agenda, and facilitate regular cross functional business reviews focused on root cause review, preventive actions, and follow up.
- Leverage AR analytics to influence business teams to update their current operations and procedures designed improve processes and results.
**Support (25%)**
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders through interaction with but not limited to Sales, Customer Service, Credit, Finance, Supply Chain and Customers.
- Assist with ad hoc internal audits.
- Work with and provide coaching, mentoring, and insights to our offshore partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Transactional (15%)**
- Ensure deductions are routed through the proper approval workflow channels.
- Process vouchers, invoice adjustments, and attach supporting documentation.
- Account Reconciliation: Identify and resolve open credits on customer accounts.
- Research and resolve aged unclaimed credits on AR as part of a focused unclaimed property effort.
- Identify and correct errors caused by other cross-functional areas such as Customer Care, EDI, Supply Chain, Finance, etc. Influence change with broader team to implement corrective policies and procedures to prevent errors going forward.
**Education and Experience Profile**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
- Previous reconciliation and analytic experience required.
- Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
**Required Skills**:
- Previous SAP or related ERP experience desired.
- Microsoft Office experience; Specifically intermediate Excel skill level.
- Effective organization, decision making and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service skills and skillfully manage confrontation.
- Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and system knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of collections concepts and practices.
**Work Environment**:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
