**OVERVIEW**

Reporting to the Director, Quality, Operational Excellence, the Manager, Organizational Quality and Patient Safety plays a critical role in ensuring Michael Garron Hospital is a recognized leader in safe, reliable and effective care. This role manages the Hospital's Quality and Patient Safety program and they have the following core responsibilities: establishing the organizational plan for Quality and Patient Safety, promoting a just culture around Patient Safety, building capacity across the organization and leading proactive approaches to improving Quality and Patient Safety across the organization.

By leading a team of professionals in Quality and Patient Safety, the Manager builds a collaborative and effective team to partner with departments, patients and providers across the organization to strengthen and sustain proactive systems, practices and policies to support safe, reliable and effective care. The Manager does this with an intentional ability to build psychological safety and embed principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging into all aspects of the Quality and Patient Safety Program.

**EDUCATION**
- Registered Health Professional in good standing with their respective college
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business, or Engineering
- Certification in healthcare quality management (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality -CPHQ) is highly desirable
- Completion of data analytics training, an asset
- PMP certification is an asset

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 10 years experience in relevant field required
- 5 years of Leadership experience (formal and informal experience will be considered)
- Experience managing a high-performing team
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in driving organizational change, fostering a culture of quality and safety, and inspiring teamwork among staff members
- Expertise with using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Proficiency in data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Group facilitation skills
- Organized and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Deep understanding of systems, systems analysis techniques, values analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools
- Superior decision-making and organizational skills
- Ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, highly complex clinical and often emotional situations
- Able to build relationships internally and externally
- Up to date knowledge of current accreditation and regulatory landscape
