The Science of Care Institute is located on the beautiful Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital campus of Sinai Health and is advancing new discoveries and innovation in how care is co-designed, implemented, and measured. Science of Care Institute is our academic hub for all clinicians (health disciplines, nursing, medicine) or any staff, researcher, learner, or volunteer who wants to be involved in advancing research and innovation associated with care and resilient care environments at Sinai Health and beyond. Our Science of Care Institute aims to ensure the design and delivery of care is evidence informed and co-designed that is meaningfully and positively experienced by our patients and care partners we serve and provide creative and innovative opportunities to instill joy in work to build back resilience in our entire workforce at Sinai Health in our post pandemic and human health resources crisis.

Our Science of Care Institute is synergistic to the organization’s leadership and discovery and basic science research associated with Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI). Our Science of Care Research and Innovation Framework focuses on** the integration of caring, symptom and safety science using team, implementation, improvement, and innovation science to accelerate new models of compassionate, fundamental care and work environment strategies into practice.** The Science of Care Institute is in a growth trajectory that builds on a strong foundation of an inter-disciplinary team of researchers, clinician-scientists, trainees and staff affiliated LTRI working collaboratively to produce high quality research and innovation to drive health system transformation. LTRI is a University of Toronto affiliated research centre and is one of the world’s leading centres in biomedical and health systems research. Our Science of Care Institute and affiliated Centres (e.g. Nursing Excellence) and LTRI are committed to excellence in health research and the training of all stages of scientists (e.g. early to senior). Strong partnerships with the clinical programs in our hospitals and with our health system partners ensures that scientific knowledge is used to promote human health and health system improvement.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide administrative support to Principal Investigators including assistance with the preparation of grant proposals and manuscripts.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for the Scientific Director, Principal Investigators and research team members, as well as prepare and follow up on expense claims.
- Assist with the coordination of the Science of Care Institute and affiliated Centres events such as seminars, webinars, local and international meetings, including: organizing itineraries, booking hotel/meeting rooms and monitoring attendance. Prepare reimbursements and honorariums for guests.
- Ensure the Principal Investigators’ CVs, and Common CVs are kept up-to-date on a regular basis, and prepare the Science of Care Institute monthly publication reports.
- Monitor and analyze research accounts as assigned (e.g., monitor account transactions, identify variances, prepare expense reports, pay invoices, prepare reimbursements, etc.), as well as support financial reconciliation reports.
- Update timesheets on payroll system (Dayforce), follow up and troubleshoot any issues.
- Maintain research teams’ websites and other social media for research studies.
- Assist with monitoring the Science of Care Institute and Affiliated Centres facilities and the inventory of major equipment, office materials and infrastructure, and assist with the monitoring of contracts associated with space, equipment and operations as appropriate.
- Support efficient and effective provision of key services to the Science of Care Institute and affiliated Centres community.
- Other duties as assigned by the Scientific Director, Principal Investigators or Supervisor.

**SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in business administration or a related discipline. A background in science is an asset as is familiarity with grant-funded research.
- A minimum of two years of related work experience is required. Experience working in a research environment would be an asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access) and Microsoft Teams/Zoom are essential. Additional software knowledge such as Adobe Professional, Illustrator, Photo Shop, Microsoft Project, Endnote would also be an asset. Mus
