We are seeking an enthusiastic mentor-focused geotechnical engineer who is excited to lead a team of approximately 13 engineers and technicians. In this position you will provide a wide range of geotechnical engineering services to the MoTI Northern Region. You will also lead a small team of engineers that provide foundation-specific advice to the entire provincial geotechnical engineering team. In this role, you may wear many hats as a managing geotechnical engineer with the Ministry - some days you'll administer budgets, conduct staff performance reviews, or advise senior executive on geotechnical issues. Other days you may be assisting your team with emergency responses, providing senior review on designs, or even providing advice on whether a future housing development should be built in a certain area.

While this position will be responsible for providing a suite of geotechnical engineering services to Ministry’s Northern Region (based in Prince George), it can be done from anywhere in the province but will require travel (minimum quarterly) to the region to support staff and clients.

**Job Requirements**:

- B.A.Sc. in Engineering, preferably in Geotechnical, Geological, Civil or Materials Science. Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C
- Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the BC association within six (6) months of employment. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively more responsible experience in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.

Progressively more responsible experience includes:

- Advanced geotechnical analytical experience with complex geotechnical design for foundations, slope stability analysis, embankment analysis and geotechnical investigations
