**Position Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- ** Supervision of Clients in the Program**:

- Establish safe spaces and provide direct social support to survivors of violence, addressing various forms of abuse and trauma.
- Offer one-on-one discussions and workshops to address issues related to guidance, consent, discipline, and other relevant topics.
- Provide information and referrals to community service providers and professionals, focusing on mental health support, income assistance, skills development, and community engagement.
- Develop community resource binders, outreach materials, and strategies to facilitate clients' access to our program.
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance in legal proceedings, house planning, and child custody matters.
- Maintain a consistent and nurturing family/home environment for clients accessing the program.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Demonstrate cultural, spiritual, sexual, and gender sensitivity, respecting clients' rights and individual identities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of clients' records and adhere to ACCEC's protocols for information disclosure to professionals.
- ** Ensuring Safety of Youths, Staff, and Organization Facilities**:

- Conduct regular building and room checks according to ACCEC's policies and procedures handbook.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure the safety and security of clients and staff members.
- Alert the supervisor promptly of any issues and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- ** Professional Competencies and Development**:

- Provide clients with a professional level of service, respecting their individual needs and experiences.
- Participate in training opportunities to enhance skills in supporting survivors and promoting gender equality.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends.
- Contribute to training shifts as required to ensure a well-rounded team approach.

- Utilize trauma-informed principles to support victims of crime, violence, and abuse effectively.

- Exhibit the ability to work with trauma survivors consistently, requiring mínimal supervision.
- ** Additional Responsibilities**:

- This job description is not exhaustive. The Coordinator - Gender-Centred Support may be required to undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, gender studies, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing support services to survivors of violence or trauma.
- Strong crisis intervention skills and familiarity with Crisis Intervention (CRIM & CYIM), First Aid, and ASIST.
- Excellent understanding of cultural, spiritual, sexual, and gender sensitivities, rights, and importance.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and follow ACCEC's disclosure protocols.
- Ability to conduct building and room checks to ensure the safety of individuals and facilities.
- Continuous commitment to personal and professional growth through training and development.
