**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are currently accepting resumes from **organized **and **team-oriented** individuals who are looking for a career as an **Accounting Assistant**. As part of the accounting team, you will be responsible for providing accounting, clerical, and administrative support. This is at our **Calmont Leasing** location **Edmonton**.

As an Accounting Assistant, you will ensure that all assigned accounting functions, including journal entries and reconciliations, are completed in a timely manner while assisting with other administrative positions when necessary. As an Accounting Assistant, you will also be required to:

- Prepare monthly journal entries and set up recurring journal entries.
- Reconcile assigned accounts, investigate discrepancies, and prepare for the Controller.
- Calculate, set up, and post depreciation monthly for rental and sales fleet.
- Review Payroll G.L. accounts to ensure monthly numbers are reasonable.
- Manage monthly manual billings for parking, rent, fuel, licenses and inter-company purchases as needed.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
- Prepare various reports as required.
- Complete other administrative or accounting duties as needed.
- Backup for A/P, A/R and Reception coverage as required.
- Other duties as required.

**DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- High School Diploma.
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting/administrative capacity.
- Completion of a business or accounting program is preferred.
- Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the drive to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Word and Excel.
