**The Opportunity**

We can offer a dynamic, creative and collaborative environment for someone passionate about social media marketing and who’s ready to contribute their ideas and skills to a small team. While the days of work will generally be consistent, we are looking for someone that can also be available on occasion for special events which may occur in the evenings or weekends. The role is on-site and located at our head office in Wesbrook Village, UBC.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Research on various events and happenings around the neighbourhoods at UBC applicable to our target audience
- Develop creative ideas for content and audience engagement aligned with our organizational goals and marketing objectives
- Write compelling and easy-to-understand captions using our brand voice
- Schedule content using Sprout Social
- Build positive relationships and conduct regular correspondence with commercial tenants and UBC organizations (e.g. UBC Garden, UBC Farm) for social media collaborations
- Attend public events relevant to our audience to capture social media content in the form of photos and videos
- Tracking and analyzing monthly social media activity performance resulting in data-driven strategy optimizations as necessary
- Conducts ongoing social media listening and community management
- Attend and contribute to marketing strategy meetings
- Other tasks, as required

**Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in digital media, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience as a social media professional managing multiple accounts and channels simultaneously
- Familiarity with the UBC Point Grey area is a strong asset
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills with a strong attention to detail
- An eye for design and visual aesthetics
- Strong work ethic, takes initiative, organized, and reliable
- A team-first mentality and ability to give and receive feedback tactfully
- Knowledge of influencers across social platforms is an asset
- Experience with social media advertising platforms is an asset
- Experience using a social media scheduling tool such as Sprout Social is an asset
