**The position**:Reporting to the Greenhouse & Retail Manager, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to help oversee the retail store. The successful applicant will have integrity, strong leadership skills, and be dedicated to performing their duties in a manner that drives success.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Managing store inventory_
- Ensure shelves are stocked, organized
- Maintain knowledge of all products available and work with Retail Manager to order new supplies to maintain inventory
- Suggest ideas for more, less, and new inventory based on customer feedback and trends
- Overseeing store merchandising and appearance_
- Using commercial awareness, move and place inventory to encourage customers to purchase the desired products
- Work with the Marketing Manager to promote merchandise as needed
- Ensure the store is organized, clean, and attractive to customers
- Train and direct other retail staff on maintenance of displays and merchandise
- Supervising and motivating retail staff_
- Ensure staff are helping customers
- Delegating tasks
- Evaluating employee performance
- Managing staff problems when Retail Manager is not available
- Providing excellent customer service_
- Answer questions
- Obtain merchandise
- Complete payment transactions
- Resolve customer complaints
- Assisting in opening/closing of the store_
- Cashouts
- Deposits
- Checking on the status of the store before and after closing, ensuring the store is “reset” and tasks were completed
- Assisting with scheduling

**Requirements**:

- 2+ years ofretail experience
- Experience working in a supervisory position would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Outstanding leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal direction, and as a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to help in other areas of the company, collaborate with colleagues, and mentor staff
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Available to work extended hours when required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Headingley, MB R4H 1B1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail management: 1 year (preferred)
