**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 203 East Esplanade, North Vancouver.**
**What you’ll do**
- Assist in Preparing Estimates: Support senior estimators in creating detailed cost estimates for ship repair projects, including materials, labor, and time requirements.
- Analyze Drawings and Specifications: Review ship drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements to help identify repair scope and necessary resources.

- Vendor and Material Sourcing: Assist in gathering cost information from suppliers and subcontractors to support estimation and procurement processes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work breakdown structures, cost reports, and progress updates.
- Learning and Development: Engage in continuous learning, including company-provided training on industry practices, estimation tools, and shipyard operations.
**What you’ll bring**
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of ship structures, repair processes, and relevant engineering concepts. Familiarity with MS Excel and project management software is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work meticulously with data, ensuring accuracy in all calculations and reports.
- Must have a current and valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Local travel to off-site locations is required.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
**Why you’ll love working here**
- This is a full-time, permanent position. With multiple operations and long-term projects, Seaspan employees enjoy job stability as we look ahead to build ships for decades to come.
- We also provide a best-in-class health and wellness benefits package for this position, including such things as full health care (e.g. unlimited physiotherapy), dental, vision, life insurance, medical leave coverage, parental leave coverage, childcare benefit partnership, personal spending account, and an Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
