The Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) — formerly the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research —supports faculty, students and staff in all aspects of their work and studies. GPS promotes excellence in graduate education, enhancing the quality of experience for more than 8,400 graduate students in more than 500 graduate programs in 300 research areas.

In service of the One University strategy, the Strategic Communications portfolio works with academic and operational leaders to tie their operational and strategic plans into the larger university strategy in a way that moves the dial on important measures of success. As a centre of expertise, we view our communications from end to end throughout the life cycles of our important communities. **Position Summary**

Reporting to the Sr. Partner or Partner, Communications and Marketing in External Relations, the Communications Coordinator supports the delivery of integrated communications, marketing, digital and creative services to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies' internal and external audiences.

Executing significant hands-on marketing/communication duties, the communications coordinator reviews complex work with more senior staff prior to release.

As an organized, detail-oriented and collaborative person, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in External Relations across a range of areas, including: internal communications, editorial strategy, creative and digital, brand, marketing, media relations and more.

**Duties**
- ** Planning and coordination**
- Contributes to communications and marketing plans for specific initiatives, programs or audiences. Ensures deliverables are on time and - in accordance with the communications plans and under direction from the project lead
- achieve intended outcomes.
- ** Channel Management**
- Coordinates and contributes to the maintenance of channels (social media, digests, websites, newsletters, blogs, etc.) used to communicate with university audiences.
- Coordinates dynamic content for channels that is aligned with editorial planning and consistent with brand voice. Identifies research, writes and edits content.
- ** Writing and Production**
- Writes material for targeted audiences across a variety of channels.
- Develops written communications, which can include but is not limited to including key messages, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, newsletters, news stories, web content, speaking notes, correspondence, website content, and marketing copy.
- Performs layout work when required (working within established templates, newsletters, presentations, etc.).
- Ensures all publication and promotional materials developed are consistent with the visual identity and brand and editorial guidelines of the institution.
- Provides editing, fact-checking and proofreading support as needed.

**Qualifications**
- A degree or diploma in a related field.
- Knowledge of a post-secondary environment is a plus.
- Possesses 1-3 years of progressive communications experience within a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
- Ability to balance competing priorities; work is performed in an environment where ambiguity, continuous change, and shifting priorities exist.
- Meet and manage client expectations.
- A high degree of professionalism and judgement.
