Our strategy, facilities, partnerships and resources are intentionally student-centred to foster dialogue, expression and open connections in support of the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.- The Access + Operations Advisor provides administrative and system support to Accessibility Services for all facets in the provision of accommodations to students with disabilities. The Access + Operations Advisor consults on and provides input into developing, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures as well as individual student cases for Accessibility Services. The Access + Operations Advisor supports the development and implementation of initiatives and programming across the department, and works on projects in support of accessibility, core system improvements and the ongoing development of training resources for students, staff, faculty, and administrators. The Access + Operations Advisor designs and develops operational tools and systems for Counselling, Wellness + Accessibility Services that optimize efficiencies for compiling student information and student records.

**Some Typical Duties**:

- Maintain and update confidential Accessibility Services student records. Maintain confidential electronic filing and data system for student records. Ensure that confidential materials are secure. Run various reports, as necessary.
- Maintain and update Accessibility Services information on ECU website.
- Provide administrative support with accommodation notices, including entering accommodation codes in ECU’s electronic information system and prepare accommodation notices to be sent to students.
- Under the direction of the Executive Director, facilitate the hiring and oversee the work of interpreters and transcribers: Coordinate Moodle access and preparatory materials for classes, arrange for textbooks, track invoices, and provide information to faculty members regarding interpreters and transcribers in the classroom.
- Provide administrative support in coordinating exam accommodations, including liaising with faculty.
- Provide administrative support to students with Learning Disability Assessment Bursaries (LDAB) and prepare required annual reports to the BC Ministry of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills.
- Liaise with ECU Financial Services to ensure charges for services are appropriately allocated and recorded.
- Ensure software subscriptions are up-to-date and install updates, as necessary.
- Provide administrative support in submitting statistics reports to PCAS (Post-Secondary Communication Access screening).
- Provide administrative support in submitting requests to the BC Centre for Accessible Post-Secondary Education Resources, for alternate format materials.
- Consult with Student Resource Coordinators and Executive Director, Counselling + Wellness, Access + Learning Support regarding policies and procedures as well as individual student cases. Provide input in developing, recommending, and implementing new policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support with the student Support Messaging System.
- Schedule and facilitate student appointments with Student Resource Coordinators.
- Under the Direction of the Executive Director, may support special projects related to accessible teaching and learning environments.
- Provide Administrative and operational support to other service areas in the Department as needed with such tasks as: assistance with organizing, logistics, set up and clean up for Wellness programming and workshops; promotion of programs and events via the website, social media, and print materials, and: may oversee some programming activities such as dog therapy.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Education, Disability Studies, Psychology or Social Work.
- Two years of experience in providing support services to persons with disabilities in an education setting (art school environment is preferred).
