The Office of the University Registrar is seeking an energetic and engaging individual to join the Student Recruitment Team as an Indigenous Student Recruiter. The position is a full-time, continuing role that requires extensive travel and flexible work schedule.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

- Collaborating with the Associate Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Student Recruitment, and kihêw-waciston to plan and implement approved recruitment activities in high schools, post-secondary institutions, First Nation colleges, and Indigenous communities focused on the recruitment of Indigenous students.
- Creating and delivering effective, dynamic recruitment and admission presentations, workshops, and information sessions; and ensuring that they align with University policy and Visual Identity and Brand Guidelines.
- Disseminating and distributing MacEwan University information to Indigenous Elders and communities, and other appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Making appropriate on-campus referrals using knowledge of all university programs and services (e.g., kihêw-waciston, Residence, and Athletics).
- Providing activity and progress reports on an ongoing and regular basis regarding recruitment activities.
- Assisting with ensuring that data entry of recruitment trips and events, future student and counsellor contact information, and inventory is entered into the applicable database(s) and/or CRM.
- Arranging for travel and lodging for university recruitment and liaison activities.
- Preparing expense reports and P-Card reconciliations for travel and other related expenses.
- Maintaining currency of the University's programs and services, academic and administrative policies and procedures, and admission requirements.
- Consulting kihêw-waciston to enhance cultural understanding/awareness of protocol to connect with Indigenous students, Elders, and other community stakeholders.

- The ability to deliver dynamic and effective presentations to large groups of people and in one-on-one sessions.
- The ability to build strong collaborative relationships with high school and post-secondary partners, Indigenous leaders and communities, and internal stakeholders in Faculties/Schools and academic and administrative departments.
- Knowledge of Indigenous education as it pertains to post-secondary education, Indigenous history and culture, and the systemic barriers Indigenous students face.
- Demonstrated understanding of respectful practices and protocol when working with Indigenous Elders and communities.
- Lived knowledge of the experiences Indigenous students have choosing and entering post-secondary education.
- Knowledge of high school and post-secondary educational systems including undergraduate programming and admission requirements.
- The ability to organize time and set priorities based on objectives with limited supervision; demonstrated initiative.
- The ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.
- Critical thinking, conflict resolution and collaborative decision-making skills.
