The Bank Note Distribution System (BNDS) Team is responsible for ensuring that demand for bank notes is met in an efficient and effective manner by working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders and partners and overseeing the performance of the Bank Note Distribution System.
**What you will do**
Specifically, you will:
- uses complex analytical techniques and strategies to develop and oversee frameworks and tools used to manage day-to-day operations and longer-term planning and oversight of the performance of the overall distribution system and individual members (e.g., transportation optimization, forecasting, financial institution compliance, key performance indicators, etc.)
- analyzes trends, evaluates and interprets complex issues, diagnoses multidimensional problems, and devises appropriate responses or strategies to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that standards are adhered to
- monitors, supports and makes recommendations for improvement to ensure smooth, high-quality and efficient operations
- in collaboration with the Currency Business Systems and Information Team, provides business expertise and advice for the development, planning and implementation of changes to business systems, processes or procedures
- provides second-level support for client service representatives (CSRs) regarding system issues, working in close partnership with Information Technology Services (ITS) to resolve system issues with external suppliers, or working with internal stakeholders such as the agency operations centres, the Corporate Services Continuity of Operations (CS-COOP) team, ITS, the Financial Markets Department (FMD) and the Funds Management and Banking Department (FBD)
- provides training to internal and external users, as required
- is a key contributor to the development of contingency plans, tools and testing to ensure continuity of operations; works with the Senior Analyst and National Operations Manager to make recommendations on business and systems risk-mitigation strategies, including working with ITS, CS-COOP and regional distribution centres on continuity of operations; conducting tests; and making recommendations for changes to processes or systems to enhance service delivery, ensure data integrity and minimize operational risk
- researches, designs and recommends new approaches, programs or services to meet evolving business and strategic objectives
- develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers to support business needs and may be called upon to represent the Bank’s interests with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers (i.e., G&D Software Solutions, the supplier of the note exchange system (NES); BNDS member financial institutions; and Audit, Financial Services, ITS, COOP, FMD and FBD at the Bank of Canada)
- leads and/or contributes to the preparation of analysis, presentations, business cases, proposals and recommendations for departmental approval and/or discussions with financial institutions
- may participate in meetings with BNDS member financial institutions at the national and regional levels, presenting the results of research and analysis
- leads medium-sized projects and participates in large projects that could include strategic or operational reviews with implications for internal and/or external stakeholders
- represents the BNDS Team on the Bank Note Monitoring Committee, developing tools and advanced forecast models to provide key BNDS input into the bank note order process
**What you need to succeed**

- advanced technical computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint
