Health Records Technician, Health Information

The Health Information Management Professional - Coder works independently and is responsible for performing detailed clinical analysis of inpatient, same day surgery and ambulatory (National Ambulatory Care Reporting System) health records using the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Canada (ICD-10-CA) and the Canadian Classification of Health Interventions (CCI) diagnostic and intervention codes to facilitate resource utilization, statistics, clinical research, and related audits.
**Essential Qualifications**
- Graduate of a recognized Health Information Management Diploma program
- Certified member with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- Knowledge of privacy and related legislation as it applies to Health Information Management
- Demonstrated computer skills with computerized patient information systems such as Cerner, 3M Coding and Abstracting, database software, Outlook, Inter/Intranet as well as intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy with the work involved
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with a strong customer focus
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Minimum one-year recent related job experience
- Recent Coding experience including experience with UCC, day surgery and inpatient coding
- Demonstrated advance skills with 3M Codefinder (ICD 10 CA, CCI)
- Proficiency in French would be an asset

**Immunization Requirements**
- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or proof of one dose and a signed commitment to receive a second dose within a specified timeframe, and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to COVID management in the workplace
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
