The Ministry of Health is responsible for maintaining an accessible, high quality, affordable system for health service delivery that meets the needs of the citizens of the Province of BC. Its mandate is to support and enhance a responsive, comprehensive, regionalized health care system that promotes and provides for the physical, mental and community health of all British Columbians.

The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues. The services are provided through seven branches: Financial Operations, Financial Analysis and Decision Support, Regional Grants and Decision Support, Audit and Investigations, Business Financial Transformation, Capital Services and Logistics Strategy. These branches provide financial advice and assist programs to meet their strategic goals and operational plans, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and central agency directives.

The Out of Province Claims work unit is responsible for the adjudication and payment of hospital benefits for eligible British Columbia residents receiving hospital care outside the province. The Branch also provides a centralized service for interprovincial billings submitted by British Columbia hospitals for services provided to residents of other provinces/territories.

The Program Administrator is the principal contact, liaison and resource person that leads, directs and oversees a team responsible for the adjudication, billing and payment of all hospital claims for BC and all other Provinces/Territories. The Program Administrator is responsible for providing research, analysis and expert advice on priority, policy and operations issues to the Manager, Third Party Liability (TPL) and Out of Province (OOP) on a variety of sensitive, confidential and complex issues and facilitates change management, training and development of staff, systems development and other program initiatives.

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma or certificate in Business Administration or related field **AND **recent related experience; **OR**:

- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- Recent related experience must include:
- Minimum 1 year of experience adjudicating claims, analyzing financial information, and monitoring workloads.
- Minimum 1 year of experience supervising staff including assignment of work and performance management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in databases and/or complex spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Excel) entering data and extracting reports.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with other internal and external partners.
- Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Two or more years’ experience in any of the above statements.
- Experience in the Health and/or Finance Sectors
