**About the BCLDB**:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB Wholesale Operations team is responsible for the registration, procurement, customs clearance, selling and distribution of liquor products for the province of British Columbia. Our stakeholders comprise approximately 800 suppliers, over 1500 retail outlets and 8000 licensed establishments. Working in collaboration with our suppliers and agents, our vision is to provide a reliable and efficient service to support the success of our customers. There are five key divisions within the business; Supply Chain, Pricing, Imports, Customer Service and Distribution. Each of our teams work closely in alignment with each other to provide a seamless customer experience and deliver on our service goals.

**About this role**:
The Wholesale Demand Planner (WDP) is an important member of the LDB Wholesale Operations team which supplies beverage alcohol to the province of BC. The Wholesale Demand Planner forecasts customer requirements and orders inventory into LDB distribution centers, ensuring a consistent supply of beverage alcohol products to approximately 10,000 customers, including private liquor stores, government liquor stores, bars, and restaurants. Each Wholesale Demand Planner purchases an average of 4 million cases of beverages alcohol inventory per year (valued at 400 million dollars) and is responsible for managing a portfolio of between 1,000 and 2,000 unique products across 50 to 100 vendors. The Demand Planner is the key point of contact with external vendors and internal staff for topics related to Distribution Centre replenishment.

This position operates in an office environment and requires regular visits to the distribution warehouse as well as occasional off-site meetings at third-party supplier offices.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Degree or diploma in operations management, business management, purchasing and inventory control or similar discipline.
- Minimum of two years of recent, related work experience*.
- Recent related work experience must have occurred in the last 5 years and must include the following:

- Preparing, reconciling and updating product demand forecasts.
- Conducting data analysis and modelling and interpreting results.
- Managing inventory i.e., forecasting, ordering, etc.
- Collaborating with a variety of internal and external partners (e.g., marketing, vendors/suppliers, etc.).
- Retail/Merchandising/Wholesale/Distribution business environment.
- Planning and supply chain management.
