The Ministry of Children and Family Services provides and funds programs and services for children, youth, and families to live safely and succeed in Alberta. Support for vulnerable children, youth, and families are at the core of the ministry’s mandate.

**Role Responsibilities**:

The Strategic Planning and Operations branch supports a service-oriented culture with a focus on building internal teamwork and expertise through proactive, horizontal, and cross-divisional approaches. - Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Planning & Reporting, this position provides advice and process expertise to divisions across the ministry to facilitate the timely and efficient production and implementation of the strategic business planning and reporting cycle, including ministry-wide planning, monitoring, and reporting of processes and documents with integrity and probity.
- Key responsibilities of the Strategic Planning and Reporting Advisor include:
- Coordinating and developing strategic, business, and operational planning and reporting initiatives in line with GoA guidelines, standards and timelines.
- Recommending and developing new planning processes, frameworks and work plans appropriate to the Manager and Director.
- Providing technical advice and oversight in the areas of strategy, operational planning, performance measurement/monitoring and evaluation to executive management and ministry staff.
- Developing networks, connecting, and building relationships with ministry staff, partner ministries and other stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- A university graduation in a related field (such as Public Administration or related field like Business, Economics and Project Management)
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible related experience.

**Assets**:

- Experience writing reports, briefings, policy documents and/or presentations with recommendations to senior leadership.
- Experience leading, coordinating, and supporting multiple projects.
- Experience collaborating working in a team-based environment.
- Knowledge of strategic, business, and operational planning theory and practice.
- Knowledge of the GoA business planning cycle and annual reporting processes.
- Experience and proficiency with software tools used to execute role responsibilities (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
