This position is part of Service Alberta Red Tape Reduction however it will support the Ministry of Technology and Innovation.

The Ministry of Technology and Innovation is responsible for making technology and innovation the driving force behind Alberta’s economic diversification and growth.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance, you will develop and lead while strengthening the strategic planning for the ministry of Technology and Innovation.

As the Manager, Strategic Planning, you will play a key role in ensuring strategic alignment within the Ministry and strengthen the Ministry's decision-making and planning through the provision of:
**High-level Scope of Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Planning and Reporting**: You will lead the development of the ministry's strategic plan and performance measures in alignment with ministry and government priorities.
- **Environmental Scanning**: You will conduct thorough environmental scans to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Working Sessions**: You will facilitate discussions and working groups to support strategic planning efforts.
- **Performance Measure Development and Reporting**: You will develop, monitor, and report on performance measures, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- **Facilitation and Consultation**:You will provide facilitation and consultation related to the above duties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the Ministry.
- **Providing Strategic Support**:Provide analysis and strategic support to Senior and Executive Management.
- **Supporting Business Planning**:Support the development of Technology and Innovation's ministry business plan, annual report, and enterprise risk framework.

**Collaboration and Representation**:

- **Cross-Ministry Representation**:Work with senior cross-Ministry representatives and participate on committees to present a strategic viewpoint and establish a corporate presence.
- **Stakeholder Relationships**:Establish effective working relationships with senior government stakeholders and serve as a primary contact with Assistant Deputy Minister Offices (ADMOs).
- **Unit Operations Management**: Manage Strategic Planning unit operations by planning and directing resources to deliver outcomes and lead team members effectively and efficiently in achieving the unit's mandate and goals.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, (i.e., Business, Finance), supplemented by four years related experience. At least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency.
