**JOB SUMMARY**

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Recovery Coach to join our team and play a crucial role in the lives of individuals striving to reclaim their well-being and happiness. In this position, you will be at the forefront of the battle against addiction and mental health challenges, offering hope and guidance to those in need. A Recovery Coach provides support, guidance, and goal-setting for individuals in addiction recovery. To build trust and connection Recovery Coaches are expected to train alongside the athlete. To support the program this position requires to be available evenings from 7-8pm on (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday) and Saturday mornings from 9-10am and other booked time for administration and meetings.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support athletes through building trust, non-judgemental relationships, and boosting confidence.
- Works with athletes to establish short and long-term goals, assessment periods and establish evaluation criteria.
- Coordinate resources to support athletes that include but not limited to counselling, therapy, medical care, education, housing, employment, and support groups.
- Monitor athletes progress, relapses and identify triggers and develop preventative strategies.
- Maintain accountability with athletes through regular check-ins, track goal progress, and help make decisions aligned with lifestyle goals.
- Advocate for athlete rights and needs within the healthcare and social services system.
- Provide Training, Education, and information as needed to support athlete recovery.
- Maintain professional and up to date case management notes.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Lived experience and knowledge of addiction recovery and mental health.
- Previous experience in recovery communities an asset.
- Respect in Sport certification as asset.
- First Aid Certified preferred.
- Certification as a Recovery Coach or other relevant certifications are an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and patience when working with athletes facing challenges.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and resources.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping. Working knowledge of FYI db an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
