Through these events and services, as well as other strategic initiatives, Jake’s House strives to empower individuals with autism; offer their caregivers support and respite; raise awareness; share resources; and build a caring community. Jake’s House is dedicated to delivering assistance to those who need it right now, while also determined to establish a support system for future generations.
**JOB OVERVIEW**
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Conduct initial assessments to understand individual strengths, skills, and employment goals.
Job Matching:
- Collaborate with employers to understand their needs and expectations.
- Coaching and Mentoring:
- Provide ongoing support, addressing challenges, and fostering skill development.
- Conduct mock interviews, resume workshops, and other training activities.
Employer Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers.
- Provide ongoing support to employers, addressing any concerns and promoting inclusivity.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on program effectiveness and success stories.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Social Work, Human Resources, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in employment services, job coaching, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and organizations.
- Knowledge of inclusive employment practices and accommodations.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Kind and empathetic, understanding the families we support always come first.
- Keen interest in staying up to date with digital technology trends.
- Strong communications skills, relationship building abilities, and a customer service mindset.
- Adaptable, resilient, can switch gears and hats quickly, thrives in fast-moving environments.
- Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and results driven.
- Experience in building fundraising campaigns considered an asset.
- Experience working for a non-profit/charity or with special needs individuals considered an asset.
- Fluency in French considered an asset.
