Date: May 25, 2023- Location: Vancouver, BC, CA (Canada)**Purpose**:
Manage and direct the Business Improvement function for the North America Region, with the corresponding interactions of continuous improvement programs (e.g. Full Potential) and specific improvement programs based on corporate mandates of value creation (e.g. AISC Challenge) across all areas of the business.

This involves establishing a collaborative working relationship with the Regional Leadership Team, General Managers, Functional Managers and Corporate Technical Services to provide guidance, consultation, counselling and advice to line managers in support of the delivery of policies and programs, constant monitoring and development of the regional tracking tools.

This position will have a high level of exposure given its proximity to the regional and corporate executives of the company.

**Business Improvement**:

- Lead the continuous improvement programs for the region, including Full Potential, and specific business improvements with a focus on delivering productivity improvements and cost reductions.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants to plan, schedule and resource FP Deployments and External Refreshes.
- Build relationships with site and regional leads to enable transparent communication and ensure program delivery.
- Support the VPP and site deployment teams as Deployment Manager for Rapid Replication leading-practice standards.
- Train site teams in project management, change enablement, initiative workbook and reporting dashboard use.
- Report value realization, progress of key performance indicators, success stories and areas to monitor to regional and executive leadership.
- Understand and capture Full Potential initiatives and value included in the Business Plan.
- Assess suitability for implementation of improvement initiatives from other regions, external sources or needs outside of regular Full Potential programs
- Liaise with Newmont’s global Business Improvement community to share best practices and align programs.
- Support and manage consultant relationship related with Full Potential initiatives.

**Regional Support**:

- Prepare regional leadership-level communications to employees, executives and the Board of Directors.
- Promote collaboration and regional successes through Yammer.
- Validate weekly and monthly regional production reports for regional and corporate leadership, including commentary on variances from the business plan and future outlooks.
- Organize and deliver the development of the annual regional Key Objectives Map.
- Provide input to Business Plan (BP) targets based on realization of the Full Potential improvement plan.
- Maintain tracking of key KPIs to ensure embedment of improvement initiatives and sustainability across the operating and support functions.
- Demonstrate personal commitment in regards to Newmont’s safety, environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
- Provide Visible Safety Leadership that supports the solidification of Newmont’s safety culture

**Training & Experience**:

- Extensive mining industry background, with a technical tertiary degree level qualification.
- Good understanding of mine economics.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and tools, such as LEAN Six Sigma, Newmont’s Full Potential, etc.
- Broad mining industry expertise and experience on Management level.
- Minimum of 10 years mining professional experience in technical/financial areas.
- Demonstrated ability to review and analyze data
- Advanced computer literacy
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ability to build strong working relationships.
- Ability to make decisions, take initiative, identify problems, generate solutions and commit to action.
- Effective people management, relationship building, problem solving, coaching and developing skills.
- English and French (Quebec) proficiency is desirable

**Working Conditions**:
This position will consist of in-office and remote work and will require travel. Preferred locations include Denver, Colorado, Vancouver, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario for ease of travel to/from offices and mine sites. Other locations in North America will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
