Part-time Ece Position

**Required Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare program with children 3 to 5 years old
- Creative, open minded and team oriented
- Valid Early Childhood Educator License issued by the BC ECE Registry
- Special Needs and Infant Toddler ECE an asset
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Clear CRC upon hire
- Good knowledge and awareness of BC ELF
- Good knowledge and understanding of child development
- Good Knowledge of Reggio inspired practice an asset
- Effective guiding and caring skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Use team approach to plan, implement and evaluate a developmentally appropriate, Reggio inspired, inclusive and high-quality program for children ages 2.5 to 5
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of children
- Guide and assist children in the development of daily care routines
- Establish and maintain good communication and rapport with parents and caregivers
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other community service providers working with children
- Light housekeeping to ensure program facilities and equipment are safe and clean
- Participate in ongoing internal and external professional development

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Schedule: Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri 12:00am to 4:30pm, Wed 8-4:30
- Wage: $25/hour plus MCFD Wage Enhancement

**Additional Notes**:
We are a small Reggio-inspired preschool/daycare with a daily outdoor component. We are located within walking distance to a beach, children's park, as well as having a large yard/garden on site. We believe that children are capable individuals who observe the world around them, gather information through natural play and rich interactions, and that children develop best at their own pace, in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance. This position is for March 1st to Sept 1st and may be extended by one year.

Contract length: 7 months

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
