Lantzville, located between Nanaimo and Parksville on Vancouver Island, is home to approximately 3,800 residents. The District of Lantzville is currently seeking a regular full-time Administrative Assistant (Building & Bylaw), reporting to the Director of Planning & Community Services. Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, providing multi-faceted services to external and internal customers for building inspection, bylaw enforcement and planning services, providing reception and front counter customer service and general clerical and administrative support for the building inspection and bylaw enforcement services and Director of Planning & Community Services.

Qualifications include: strong communication, customer service, multi-tasking and computer use skills, along with one year of post-secondary education in business or office administration and at least two accounting and finance courses at a university or college. Two years’ experience in a municipal government reception, office clerk or equivalent positions (asset if related to building, bylaw or planning services) and one years’ customer service and cash handling experience is required, or a combination of training and experience.
