**POSITION: Supply Chain Coordinator**
**DEPARTMENT: Purchasing**
**REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manger**
**LOCATION: Waterloo, Ontario**
**Position Summary**
The primary function of this position will be responsible for creating purchase orders for services, managing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), coordinating non inventory purchases, and overseeing service contracts.
**Essential Functions**
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in creating purchase orders for services and maintaining accurate records
- Create and maintain purchase orders for outside services that support production requirements
- Coordinate non-inventory purchases by assisting with vendor selection and order placement
- Aid in the management of service contracts by tracking deadlines, contract renewals and performance metrics
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Manage vendors’ performance and resolve any issues
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all supplier partners
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues or concerns
- Work cross functionally to support MRO requirements
- Provide excellent internal customer service by responding to inquires and requests in a timely manner
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- **EDUCATION**_
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline (materials management, supply chain management or business)
- Industry Certifications considered an asset (CSCMP, CPIM, CSCP, CCLP, etc.)
- **EXPERIENCE**_
- Minimum of 1 year of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
- **COMPETENCIES**_
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem analysis and resolution skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- The ability to multitask and to prioritize those tasks
- A strong team-player with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Basic level skills required in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Committed to continuous improvement within the supply chain
**Physical Environment and Environmental Factors**
- Regularly works in an office setting.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear
- Must be able to work in front of a computer for a large portion of the day
