**Position Overview**

The Quality Assurance Specialist, under the direction of the Quality Manager, will be responsible for handling quality assurance activities. Ensuring Kratos Defense meets the quality compliance standards defined by the customer. The Quality Assurance Specialist will also be responsible for managing quality assurance policies and controlling the new product development process. Effective problem solving will also be a major element for the Quality Assurance Specialist position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate /co lead in ISO 9001 and Customer Audits
- Generate and control QMS Procedures, Internal and supplier Corrective Action and Special Process Instructions.
- Liaison with customer, suppliers, engineering on quality issues. / Ability to present CAPA reports to the customer.
- Establish and perform special process documentation and audits for special processes.
- Participate in continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Perform internal and supplier audits.
- Generate and control Quality Metrics.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
- ECO/ECR help facilitate change management to product and process.
- Ensure projects are implemented in accordance with Kratos Defense purchasing, Request for Proposal (RFP) and contracting procedures.
- Conduct risk analyses, verifications, validation activities.
- Any other related duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree - Masters would be an asset
- Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management background or knowledge would be an asset
- Three to Five years’ experience within quality assurance (aerospace or automotive customers)
- Ability to read drawings and specifications - a must
- G,D& T Certification - must
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills /
- Strong Problem-solving ability
- Ability to work without supervision
- Good time management skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities, and tasks accurately
- Adequate working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft word and Excel.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing would be an asset.
- Demonstrated hand-on experience leading a QA team in fabrication/manufacturing environments.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; demonstrated customer communications. Demonstrated experience in writing reports is required.
- Requires the ability to work in a team environment and a high level of self-motivation.

**Work Conditions**
- Travel may be required.
