**OVERVIEW**:
The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) requires a Manager for the Pathways to Healing Program. The Pathways to Healing Program supports Survivors of residential and day schools, the 60s Scoop, the child welfare system, MMIWG2S+, and intergenerational trauma and their families in their journeys of healing and commemoration. Reporting to the Program Lead, the Manager is a valuable member of the SCO Team who provides leadership and oversight to the Pathways to Healing Program staff, connecting Survivors and their families with culturally relevant supports. The program also provides grants to our member Nations to support Survivor events and commemoration.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage Pathways to Healing Program Team to provide supports for Survivors and their families
- Support the development of safe, culturally appropriate, and trauma informed mental health and wellness supports
- Identify gaps in services for families and Survivors and act as an agent of change to work with governments, police, justice, and other systems and structures to advocate and address those gaps
- Work to influence change to laws, policies, and programs to support Survivors, in line with the TRC Calls to Action and the National Inquiry’s Calls for Justice
- Develop program materials including, but not limited to, presentations, violence prevention and exploitation resources, and toolkits
- Serve on various committees, working groups, and task forces and participate in initiatives and projects to create positive change for Survivors and their families
- Assist in planning and organizing SCO’s annual Survivors’ Healing Gathering and other SCO and community gatherings, events, and ceremonies, including annual education awareness campaigns
- Maintain records of program materials and activities to document and monitor milestones
- Compile and analyze data and information to produce progress reports and annual reports
- Develop funding proposals to grow the program and continue to expand the supports and services offered to Survivors and families
- Other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Required**:

- University degree in Administration, Public Policy, Law, Health Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Development Practice, or other related field/discipline
- Minimum of three years’ experience leading or managing programs in the health and wellness or social services fields. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Strong understanding of the impacts of colonization and of residential and day schools, the 60s Scoop and child welfare systems, MMIWG2S+ and intergeneration trauma
- Extensive knowledge of systematic barriers, community resources, system navigation, and referral options
- Experience supervising staff, including the assignment of work and the development and evaluation of workplans, etc.
- Strong political acumen with the ability to work individually, collectively, and effectively with various types of organizations, levels of government, and stakeholder partners
- Respect for community protocols as they pertain to traditional gatherings and events
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage a wide range of projects, manage competing timelines, and navigate shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for diverse audiences and express ideas clearly, concisely, and respectfully
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must be skilled in working with web browsers, Windows platforms, and Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

**Preferred**:

- Experience writing funding proposals and their associated reporting requirements
- Master’s level education
- Understanding of Anishinaabe and Dakota cultures and traditions is an asset
- Fluency in Anishinaabemowin or the Dakota language

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search, a clear Child Abuse Registry Check, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must have a valid Class 5 MB Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle for occasional travel
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
