The Program Manager Skills4Life will coordinate and assist with the daily business operations nurturing an organizational culture in our work environment that promotes alignment with our organizational performance goals, our espoused organizational core values, and specifically our strategic drivers of becoming youth-centric, a center of excellence and building culturally safe services and programs.

The duties and responsibilities are carried out within a trauma resiliency-informed framework. Duties are performed within a team environment that focuses on establishing collaborative and trusting relationships. Providing culturally competent services and ensuring youth safety, choice and control are priorities at The Link.

**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Duties and responsibilities of the Program Manager include but are not limited to:

- In consultation and collaboration with the Leadership and Operational Teams, the Skills4Life Program Manager coordinates and implements strategies, plans, programs, projects, tools, data, and reports;
- Demonstrates leadership skills by working alongside Skills4Life team members, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to improve service delivery and client outcomes;
- Coordinates and maintains reporting expectations for the program;
- Conducts research, and develops networks and partnerships to further develop projects based on the program purpose statement;
- Networks with collaterals and community resources and addresses external requests;
- Develops positive relationships with community partners and work placements;
- Ensures ongoing support for youth as they learn to make their own way in the world as independent adults;
- Ensures all program participants receive one-on-one help based on individual needs like housing and housing rights; medical, legal and CFS issues; as well as employment and income assistance;
- Ensures delivery of training/workshops that are focused on enhancing workplace literacy and skill development;
- Represents The Link: Youth and Family Supports both externally as well as internally;
- Promotes and liaises with the external environment to determine the future needs and direction of the program;
- Implements annual and operational plans to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the goals of the organization;
- Ensures accountability to achieve the strategic directions of the organization;
- Promotes and complies with various legislations (i.e. Workplace Safety and Health Act, adhering to Public Health Orders (Covid-19), Human Rights Act, Department of Families Licensing standards);
- Attends team meetings and training as required;
- Other duties as requested by Chief Operational Officer.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Five (5) years of related experience with at-risk youth;
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience;
- Post-secondary degree in Human Services or;
- A combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Willingness to obtain necessary training as per the organization’s training policy including Crisis De-escalation, NCI, Applied Suicide Intervention, Colonization Awareness, and Child Development;
- Person-focused crisis resolution and clinical counseling experience;
- Business/management/supervisory/ public relations training (preferred);
- Knowledge of Strength-based philosophy and knowledge of aboriginal culture and language (preferred);
- Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize;
- Excellent listening and communication (both written and verbal) skills;
- Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain;
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months;
