**Bilingual Community Engagement Coordinator**

**(Permanent, Full time)**

**Good Neighbours Canada**

Good Neighbours is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in South Korea in 1991. After 5 years, we obtained consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Good Neighbours Canada launched in March 2017 in London, Ontario. Under the Good Neighbours’ international governance, we focus on fundraising, refugee and newcomer settlement programs, and global development campaigns to support field projects.

**Role**

The **Community Engagement Coordinator** will enhance the visibility of Good Neighbours Canada through successful fundraising event coordination, community service delivery, and donor engagement. This role involves organizing community events, managing donor relationships (with a particular focus on Korean-speaking donors), and supporting grant-awarded programs to operate for Korean seniors and other target groups. The coordinator will also handle corporate sponsorship outreach and manage in-kind donations.

**TASKS**
- Provide direct community service through the coordination and facilitation of digital education programs and craft workshops, especially for racialized groups and seniors.
- Coordinate fundraising events and solicit sponsorships to support Good Neighbours Canada’s projects.
- Organize and deliver at least one community engagement event per quarter, with a focus on supporting equity-seeking groups, including newcomers, refugees, visible minorities, youth, and seniors, as per local priorities.
- Manage donor relations for the charity’s Korean-speaking donor base, including regular communication, inquiries, and support requests.
- Draft and update thank-you messages in Korean for donors, with translations approved by the Project Manager.
- Maintain the Donor Management System (DMS database) by organizing and entering donor data regularly.
- Track and record touchpoints and donor interactions, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Analyze donor needs, cultivating and managing donor relationships through a structured donor relationship cycle, including identification, qualification, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Conduct research to assess donor interests, giving history, and capacity to give, developing tailored solicitation plans for grants and prospects.
- Engage with stakeholders and partners to strengthen relationships, expand fundraising opportunities, and build networks for future collaborations.
- Secure in-kind donations from corporate partners for both local and international projects, managing logistics, shipping, and communication with Good Neighbours partner offices globally.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Act as an ambassador of Good Neighbours Canada, representing the organization professionally in all interactions with stakeholders.
- Support additional organizational needs to ensure the effective and safe operation of the charity.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Essential**
- Full-time availability (40 hours per week), with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for event coordination.
- Fluency in English and Korean, with proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with confidence in cold calling/visiting potential donors and corporate sponsors. A professional network is a bonus.
- Experience in community engagement, particularly with diverse groups such as refugees, visible minorities, youth, and seniors.
- Technological proficiency, including client database maintenance.
- Design skills, with experience using Canva or similar tools for creating marketing materials (e.g., posters, flyers).
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders in a polite and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and maintain self-motivation, with a resourceful and cost-conscious approach.
- A team player who enjoys working with colleagues, professionals, volunteers, and the community.
